The head of the CIA: Putin will retaliate "severely" against Prighozin

The head of the CIA, William Burns, has stated that the passivity of Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the uprising of the Wagner mercenary group has to do with analyzing the behavior and strategy being followed by the military group, led by Yevgeny Prighozin.

This uprising has exposed the weaknesses of the power that Putin has built, said the head of the CIA, William Burns.

During the Security Forum in Aspen, the head of the CIA stated that the Russian leader will definitely take revenge on Priogozhin.

"What we're seeing is a very complicated dance ," the CIA chief said Thursday.

"Putin is trying to buy time while he works out how best to deal with the leader of the Wagner group," Burns added.

Burns also stated that Putin is someone who thinks revenge is a dish best served cold.

"In my experience, Putin is the ultimate apostle of retribution, so I would be surprised if Prigozhin escaped further punishment." - he emphasized.

Earlier this month, US President Joe Biden suggested there was a risk that Wagner's boss could be poisoned.

"If I were him, I would be careful what I eat. I would keep an eye on my menu, " the president said.

The CIA director echoed this saying that if I were Prigozhin, I would not fire my taster.
