Prosecutors: The suspect in the Paris attack set out to kill immigrants

French authorities say the man suspected of killing three members of the Kurdish community in Paris on Friday has told investigators he set out that morning with the intention of killing immigrants or foreigners and then himself.

The 99-year-old killed three people outside a Kurdish cultural center and wounded three others. It was one of the wounded who managed to disarm him, the Paris prosecutor's office said on Sunday.

Two of the injured are still hospitalized with leg injuries.

Investigators are examining the computer and phone of the author of the attack, but have not found any confirmed connection of him with groups representing extremist ideologies./ VOA
