Four carabinieri were injured as they were chasing two young men in the village of Montemurlo (Prato) suspected of burglary.

The two Albanians, 26 and 34 years old, both without residence permits and unemployed, attacked the carabinieri when they located them.

One carabinieri was hospitalized for 20 days with chest fractures, one suffered swelling of the eye and two of the carabinieri received various injuries.

The two Albanians were arrested on the charge of burglary in one house and attempted burglary in another house, while they were observed for a long time by the carabinieri.

Carabinieri have been watching a suspicious car, a Toyota Yaris, seen around the Oste area for some time.

From the license plate, it was revealed that the owner was a Moldovan with 124 owned cars, an anomaly that aroused the investigative interest of the Carabinieri from Prato.

At around 23:30 on Thursday evening, the two tried to enter the house of a worker in Oste, in via Battisti, but the alarm went off and they gave up the theft.

Afterwards, they managed to enter the house next door, taking 100 euros in cash and gold rings and stones worth 1,500 euros.

During the chase, one of the Albanians was also injured, who hit his head on the car window. /CNA.al
