Massive floods in Spain/ Reported for 158 victims

Spain has been rocked by its worst floods in decades, as a year's worth of rain fell in just a few hours this week in the country's southern and eastern regions.

"The storm started on Tuesday and so far has killed at least 158 ??people," Spanish Minister for Territorial Policy Angel Victor Torres said on Thursday, while dozens more remain missing.

The storm flooded cities and roads, caused rivers to burst their banks and left thousands of families without electricity and drinking water.

"There are dozens of missing people. We cannot confirm that number. But it's clear that the more days go by and they don't show up, the more likely we are to have no hope of finding them alive," Torres added.

Valencia saw its heaviest rainfall in 28 years.

Emergency workers are still struggling to rescue those trapped, with ongoing operations to find bodies and clear debris./ CNA
