Serbian Foreign Minister: Sanctions against Moscow do not change the attitude

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, has stated that he does not believe that Russia will change its position regarding Kosovo, even if Serbia imposes sanctions on Moscow.

During an interview, he emphasized that Serbia condemns the threat to the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but does not impose sanctions on Russia for reasons of principle.

 "There are 84 countries that recognize the Republic of Kosovo, out of 193. If someone raises the issue of membership in the UN, the first thing that should be done is to declare the Security Council, where Russia and China have the right to veto", he said.

Ndër të tjera nënzivoi se disa vende europiane, shumë më të zhvilluara se Serbia, tani punojnë më mirë me Rusinë sesa para sanksioneve.

Duke komentuar marrëdhëniet me Kinën, ai kujtoi se presidenti francez Emmanuel Macron dhe kryetarja e Komisionit Evropian, Ursula von der Leyen, vizituan atë vend.

“Ne duhet të shikojmë interesat tona, të ruajmë rrugën tonë evropiane dhe interesat tona kombëtare dhe shtetërore. Interesi ynë është paqja në rajon dhe stabiliteti, si dhe mbrojtja e interesave të popullit tonë në Kosovë dhe Metohi”, është shprehur ndër të tjera ai.

Gjithashtu ai theksoi se interesi i Prishtinës nuk është zbatimi i marrëveshjeve, por dëbimi i serbëve dhe krijimi i një atmosfere në të cilën Serbia nuk mund të ndihmojë më serbët në Kosovë që të pranojnë nga Prishtina, apo të lëvizin.

He said that Albin Kurti wants to present Serbia badly and that he and some western countries are waiting for Serbia to say that it will not negotiate.

"Our policy to be in dialogue is correct. We also receive praise from the West that we have a more constructive approach than Pristina. President Vucic said that we have an obligation to implement the principles up to the red lines, which are the de facto or de jure recognition of Kosovo and Kosovo's membership in the UN," he said./ CNA.al
