Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not discuss the war in Ukraine during a bilateral meeting in Kazakhstan on October 13, the Kremlin said.

Before the meeting, Erdogan has given signs that he is ready to mediate between the parties involved in the conflict, saying that diplomacy would provide opportunities for "proper peace" so that the bloodshed stops.

"The issue of resolving the Russian-Ukrainian issue has not been discussed," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to the RIA news agency.

The Turkish presidency has not yet commented on this meeting.
