Former Israeli Prime Minister, Bennett: Putin assured me that he would not kill Zelensky

The former prime minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett, has said that the Russian president, Putin, assured him in the first days of the war that he would not kill Zelensky.

Bennet said that immediately after the meeting he called President Volodymyr Zelensky and informed him about the matter in question, as reported by foreign media.

"I knew that Zelensky was under threat, in a bunker. I said to him, to Putin: Are you going to kill Zelensky? He said to me, 'I'm not going to kill Zelensky,'" Bennett said.

Further, former Prime Minister Bennet said that he asked Putin if he would talk to him about this matter, while he answered again that he will not kill Zelensky.

"I need to understand, are you giving me your word that you will not kill Zelensky? He told me "I will not kill Zelensky," added the former prime minister.

Bennett points out that he called Zelensky immediately after the meeting and told him: “I just got out of a meeting, he's not going to kill you.
