The United States condemns the violent incidents of recent days in northern Kosovo, a State Department spokesman told the VOA Serbian service.

Tensions in the north of Kosovo increased as the date for early elections in the four municipalities in the north of the country approached. “Përdorimi i eksplozivëve nuk është kurrë një metodë e pranueshme proteste dhe rrezikon jetën e njerëzve të pafajshëm”, tha për Zërin e Amerikës zëdhënësi i Departamentit të Shtetit, duke shtuar se “Shtetet e Bashkuara vazhdojnë t'i bëjnë thirrje Kosovës dhe Serbisë që të ushtrojnë përmbajtje dhe të shmangin çdo veprim apo deklaratë që do të përshkallëzonte më tej tensionet.”
