On Tuesday, the Albanian karate champion at the European Games, Alvin Karaqi, received the "Star of Public Recognition" awarded by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

In the ceremony held, Karaqi deserved recognition after in June of this year he won the gold medal in the European Karate Championship held in Poland, honoring the Albanian anthem and raising the red and black flag.

During his speech, Karaqi was moved and shed tears. Likewise, his family members were also moved to tears. 

"I won the medal, but behind me is a very big team, my girlfriend, society, family. I say thank you very much to Femi. You are all the reason why I won", said the young Albanian, who by profession is a doctor./ CNA
