Tirana Deputy Police Director Appears in Special Court

The Durrës Court has released former RENEA officer Arbër Paplekaj from prison.
Paplekaj is accused of the murder of Pjerin Xhuvani in Elbasan, on April 21, 2021.
Xhuvani was killed after a gunfight in the "5 Maji" neighborhood in Elbasan.
Arbër Paplekaj was the bodyguard of former Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, during the 2021 electoral campaign.
After a clash between two party groups, where weapons were also used, Paplekaj shot at Xhuvani, leaving him a victim.
At that time, as a result of the shooting, Emiljan Prenga, 39, Pavlo Vuksani, 50, Eltjon Bodinaku, 32, Pjerin Xhuvani's son-in-law, were injured. Police officer Xhensila Sota was also injured.
Xhuvani was accused by the DP of being one of the organizers of the physical clash between SP and DP supporters on Summer Day 2021 in Elbasan.
