Caught illegally importing livestock into Albania/A person is arrested at the border

The Korça Border and Migration Directorate has intensified controls regarding the transport of small livestock from neighboring countries.

A citizen has been arrested after being caught at the Kapshtica border crossing attempting to bring some small livestock (sheep) into our country without the accompanying documentation.

Citizen KF was identified during a customs check by border police services, while it is learned that the cattle were handed over to the AKU for analysis to determine if they were infected with infectious diseases.

The arrested person is charged with the criminal offense of "smuggling of licensed goods".

Controls continue at all border crossing points and the green border by the Korça Local Directorate of Border and Migration to ascertain illegal cases related to the transport of small livestock.
