Situation due to rainfall in Korça Region/ Rockfall on the Lozhan-Moglica

The situation due to overnight rainfall in the Korça Region presents several isolated problems.

So far, several concerns have been recorded for residents, such as impassability of roads due to floods, landslides, falling rocks on the roads, and a crack in the embankment of the Oshtica stream.

Korca Municipality:

There is water presence near the houses in the villages of Çiflig and Shamoll (Bulgarec AO).

As a result of the numerous flows of the stream, the road to the village of Denas (Lekas ??AO) has become impassable. The responsible structures have taken measures to intervene.

Municipalities of Kolonjë, Maliq, Devoll and Pustec:

No emergency situations or damage are reported.

Municipality of Pogradec:

A landslide has been detected in the village of Dardhas, and work is underway to restore traffic.

There have been rockfalls and landslides on the Lozhan-Moglica axis. Clean-up operations are underway and traffic is continuing normally, with temporary restrictions in the affected areas.

A crack in the embankment of the Oshtica stream (Bilisht) is reported, the intervention will be carried out as soon as the flows decrease. The Dunavec River has significant flows, but is being constantly monitored and currently does not pose a risk. / CNA
