"Abuse of duty"/ AMP suspends police officer in Vlora

The Police Supervision Agency has suspended a police officer in Vlora. The officer with the initials Xh.Xh. is suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

The AMP announcement states that the security measure was imposed after the police officer failed to fulfill functional duties while carrying out actions related to a criminal proceeding in 2024.

The Police Supervision Agency (Vlora - Gjirokastër Region) has executed the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Vlora, which has imposed the personal security measure of a prohibitive nature "Suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" provided for in Article 242 of the Criminal Procedure Code, against police officer Xh.Xh., with the duty of Investigation Specialist in the Anti-Trafficking Section at the Vlora Police Department, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Abuse of office" provided for in Article 248 of the Criminal Code.

The assignment of the security measure became possible after the police officer failed to fulfill functional duties while carrying out actions related to a criminal proceeding in 2024.
