Regulation on energy supply, ERE revises down the average duration of outages

Several indicators related to improving the quality of energy supply and the security of the transmission network will be reviewed in the regulation that the Energy Regulatory Authority has opened as a procedure for amendment.

Specifically, it is about reducing the average duration of outages, which according to the initial regulation of 2017 should reach a new level of improvement.

But what are the indicators that will actually be reviewed?

"AIT (Average Interruption Time) is 35 min - proposed to be 25.96 min; - ENS (Energy Not Supplied) is 467 MWh - proposed to be 365.997 MWh; and - SAIDI (Average Interruption Duration Index) is 100 min - proposed to be 39.48 min. - VQ (Voltage Quality) is within the range: -10%, +11.8 - proposed to be within the range (110 kV- 300 kV): 0.90 pu - 1.118; and within the range (300 kV - 400 kV): 0.90 pu - 1.05 pu", the revised points state.

Likewise, the Entity has changed the last point of Article 7, which states that "The expected performance levels, as approved by the ERE, will be implemented immediately and will remain in force until the reassessment of these standards by the ERE in function of the measured, reported and exercised performance."

Likewise, point 7.3 of this article will sanction that the OST sha or ERE, on its own initiative, will propose and ERE will approve the revised permitted level of standard service quality criteria in function of the measured, reported and exercised performance.

Regarding compensation in cases where the required standards are not met, the regulation will also have revised point 9.1 of Article 9, which states that the compensation of end customers connected to the transmission network, in case of non-compliance with the standard criteria of supply quality and network security performance in the electricity transmission system according to the provisions of this Regulation, will be made based on the provisions of the Transmission Network Code and the Transmission Service Agreement./ Monitor Magazine
