Protests/ Klosi: PS will not withdraw from mandate

The Socialist Party rules out the possibility of the government's resignation, despite the demands raised by the protesters.

The Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Blendi Klosi, during an event in Poçëm, Mallakastra, declared that the majority will listen to every concern of citizens, but will not question the mandate received from the elections.

According to him, governance will continue until the end of the mandate, while the priorities remain the European integration process, promoting investments, and improving public services.

"We have separated the demands of citizens from the beginning with the demands of justice and political demands. Regarding political demands, the Socialist Party continues to remain faithful to the mandate given to it by the Albanians on May 11 of last year. We have an agreement to lead the country towards integration into the European Union, to increase investments and services for citizens and to strengthen Albania," said Klosi.

Klosi also commented on the positions of some left-wing voices who have expressed themselves in favor of the protest, emphasizing that individual opinions do not affect the unity of the Socialist Party.

He stated that the party's structures remain united and committed to its political objectives.

"The SP continues to be consolidated. We have been in every cell of it," says Klosi.

At the same time, Klosi said that the Socialist Party has begun preparations for the 2027 local elections, with the aim of securing victory in all 61 municipalities in the country.

"We are ready to win all 61 municipalities of Albania," he emphasizes./ CNA
