Albanian singer Parashqevi Simaku has confessed that she had not spoken Albanian for years and had not contacted her son, referring to the period when she lived outside the home. In an interview with journalist Blendi Fevziu, Simaku also shared some details from her private life, saying that she is not divorced, as has been rumored.

Simaku said he had chosen to live abroad after the pandemic period.

Simaku said that he was last in Albania in 2004.

"In 1997 I returned to Albania to sing at a festival. In 2004 I returned to Albania with Robert because my father passed away. Since then I have not returned to Albania. My relationship with Robert has not broken down. I am not divorced from Robert, we are separated. He sent letters to my parents. He proposed to me with a diamond ring. I chose to live abroad myself. It only happened after COVID. I was in Times Square. Sometimes I moved because it was hot there during the summer and then I would return. I had not seen Albanians. I did not go to their house.
