The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece announced that the Divine Liturgy service will be held at the Metropolis of Athens tomorrow, before the body of the blessed Archbishop of Albania, Anastasios Yanullatos.

The divine service will be led by the vice-president of the Holy Synod, Metropolitan Ierotheos of Nafpaktos and Saint Vlash.

"In consultation after the Holy Synod of the Church of Albania, it is announced that tomorrow, Sunday, January 26, 2025, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the Cathedral of Athens, in front of the coffin of the blessed Archbishop Anastasios. It will be celebrated by the Vice-President of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, His Excellency Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Saint Vlash, Mr. Ierotheos," the announcement states.

After its conclusion, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Ieronymos, will perform a requiem. According to the announcement, Anastasios' body will remain in the Athens Cathedral until Monday morning when it will depart for Albania.

In our country, the reception of the body of the late Archbishop will take place in front of the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral in Tirana, on January 28 at 4:00 PM."

Tributes will be held inside the temple during that afternoon and on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, at 11:00 a.m., following the Divine Liturgy. /CNA
