Metropolitan of Apollonia and Fier, Nikola: The election of Archbishop Joan, the will of God

The Metropolitan of Apollonia and Fier, Nikolla, in his speech stated that the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania today, amidst prayers and thanksgiving to God, rejoices with the ascension of His Beatitude Ioannis to the Archbishopric throne.

He emphasized that the election of Archbishop Joan is God's will.

"Today, the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, amidst prayers and thanksgiving to God, rejoices with your ascension to the archiepiscopal throne.

The Christian people of our people's lands were tested by political and social trials.

We all have the assurance that the Lord will be with you as he was with your ancestors. Be strong and courageous.

We believe that this is a choice and a solution, the will of God. God chose you to be fellow travelers with Moses Anastas. You have proven that you love your country, the Albanian people by not leaving and serving far from Albania.

"You transformed the Metropolis of Korça into a precious stone in the glorious crown of our Church," said Metropolitan of Apollonia and Fier, Nikolla./ CNA
