The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all of Albania led the Divine Liturgy today at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. During his sermon, His Beatitude emphasized the importance of the Gospel messages in our lives.

Archbishop Joan said that when a person encourages another to sin, he is the greatest culprit. His Beatitude called for people to remove the darkness from their souls and allow the light of Christ into their hearts.

"If we incite people to slander and lie, to commit sins, we are the ones to blame. That is why we need to be very careful in the words we speak. Often, and unwittingly, people incite something with gossip. It is a great sin when we incite the sins of others. The light shows everything, that is why they do not want it.

It is understandable and forgivable for children to be afraid of the dark, but the real tragedy is when adults are afraid of the light. For the light that emanates from Christ will reveal all.

A life without light is joyless and crippled. Those who live piously are persecuted. Open a small window in your heart and allow the light of Christ to penetrate the soul. The removal of darkness will liberate man. Darkness does not come only from outside, the most terrible is that which is within us. God is where there is joy and enlightenment, so let us rejoice in the progress of others. Let us strive to be children of the light, for it will always give us joy,” His Beatitude said. /CNA
