Linda Rama said this evening that she had her first meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama in 2002, when Edi Rama was mayor of Tirana.

"We made a long appearance on a TV show, we were explained and I actually introduced myself there as the wife of Edi Rama. We got married in 2010, I met Ed in 2002, in the context of making a report on human development, which is one of the most dignified publications and the reason was because the topic of the report was about decentralization and since Tirana is was moving rapidly towards the deepening of this process, he was invited by the group of experts, I met him there for the first time", she said.

The prime minister's wife stated that because of her marriage to Rama, she resigned from 3 positions.

"In 2010, that week of my marriage with Ed, it caused me to resign 3 times without anyone asking me, not because there was any ethical problem, but my reasoning system and my internal ethics told me this. I resigned from the head of the office where I worked, one resignation was leaving the auditorium as a lecturer because I taught public policy at the master's level, and the third resignation was from the board of the Soros foundation. There was strong resistance from the board not to accept my resignation, because they found it impossible to accept that Ed's position at that time was an execution bullet for my career that had come as a result of the contributions and merits I had.
