"Government interferes in judiciary"/ Attempt to control every office of justice

In Albania, public security cameras are of poor quality.
They mainly serve for traffic management as they have low resolution.
In the capital, public security cameras are managed by the municipality and partly by the police.
In the images of these cameras, in most cases, especially in the dark, it is difficult to distinguish the license plate of a suspect vehicle or the face of passers-by.
However, in Tirana, where the main areas are covered with cameras for security, most of the crimes have been revealed by the cameras of the businesses.
In 2016, the government passed the law on additional public safety measures to compel private individuals to install security cameras.
This year, body cameras for police officers were also introduced, but according to Euronews Albania sources, they have been out of use for more than 1 year due to lack of maintenance and problems with the server.
Sources indicate that other sophisticated and algorithmic cameras have begun to be installed in some axes of the capital to identify or track suspected vehicles and persons./euronews
