Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the work done after the devastating earthquake at the conference held in Thumana on sports as an engine of development.

He said that the reconstruction project as a whole, but Thumana in particular, would have been impossible without others who got involved.

According to him, Thumana was a challenge in itself, the blow was big, people were surprised by what they had seen, but things were done because many forces joined together.

"Thumana was the epicenter of the strike. Not many years later we rose with many champions and with the presence of sports federations to utilize the infrastructure of a sports environment in Albania. In this community services building, there is a new model that Thumana has and other big cities do not have. This is a reality today. I want to say that this project as a whole of reconstruction, but in particular of Thumana, would have been impossible without others who engaged in discussions. Thumana was a challenge in itself, the impact was huge, people were amazed at what they had seen. Disbelief was total. One of the things we discussed that night was that someone had a concern about the pitch, I told you we're going to do more pitches.  

Things were done because many forces came together. I cannot stay without mentioning the foundation Albanians for Albanians. The program was a social relief program where families with several crowns who had lost a home were given a house for each crown. We must turn what we are doing today into a tradition," said Rama./ CNA
