Khrais – Tërshana will bring the premiere of Crit Club in Tirana, a performance by artist Cem A. where two teams debate an unrealistic question about art, accompanied by a sport.
On Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 7:00 PM, in the Hall of the Main Building of the University of Arts in Tirana, this edition will debate "Is the market good for artists?".
A question of global importance, it becomes particularly urgent in the context of Western Balkan institutions, where post-graduation art students must navigate ecosystems without market infrastructure and face real dilemmas regarding the economic model of their artistic practice.
Crit Club treats disagreement as a critical game: one team argues for, the other against, and then switches roles mid-performance. During the interval, a sporting duel takes place, framing criticism as a mental sport regulated by rules and rituals. This format has been presented internationally, including at Berlin Art Week, Rokolectiv Bucharest, Alserkal Avenue Dubai, and Art Basel Hong Kong.
Crit Club Tirana will have on the panel: Flaka Haliti-artist & pedagogue (Prishtina/Berlin), Dr. Stephanie Dieckvoss-pedagogue & art market researcher (London), Ilija Prokopiev-curator & publisher (Ljubljana/Skopje) and Elian Stefa-director of the Visual Arts Network of Albania (Tirana).
The discussion will be held in English and will be moderated by Övül Ö. Durmu?o?lu, curator, writer & lecturer (Berlin).
Within the framework of Crit Club Tirana, it will be the first public event of the Albanian Fencing Federation, which has invited professional fencers for a duel.
