World Patriarch Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj was present today at the memorial conference in honor of the late Archbishop of Albania, Anastas, on the occasion of the first anniversary of his passing.

In his speech, Father Mondi emphasized the commitment and valuable role of Archbishop Anastasios, as an important factor and a point of reference, not only for the Orthodox, but also for his religious morality.

Father Mondi also shared a memory from his last meeting with Archbishop Anastasios, where they had discussed at length.

"Archbishop Anastasios lived his faith as a responsibility to society and conceived knowledge as a means of building bridges between people, cultures and people. In every one of his engagements, he proved that when religion is exercised with humility, it becomes a powerful force for peace and understanding. Archbishop Anastasios was a powerful partner and a valuable and reliable voice of dialogue. He believed that religious coexistence is a value, in a world facing uncertainty. He was a calming factor in times of change and a moral reference point. At our last meeting in the Orthodox Church, I was received with extraordinary hospitality and deep respect, as always by His Holiness. We developed a fraternal and humane dialogue with the Archbishop, despite his health condition. Today, honoring his memory, we reaffirm our common commitment to continue that he showed mercy with dignity beyond borders, cultures and beliefs," said Baba Mondi./ CNA
