A host of destinations were ranked based on safety, economic affordability, climate and social media engagement, and Albania topped the list.

Best place to visit this year? With so many interesting cities to explore and fun new things to do, this is a pretty tough title to give, but the HelloSafe platform has managed to list the best destinations for 2025.

The company analyzed a bunch of places and gave them an overall score, based on how safe and affordable they are, social media engagement, and how they perform on a climate index based on rainfall and ideal temperature.

Albania is declared the best country to visit this year

Topping the list with a score of 75.8 is Albania, hailed as a beautiful Mediterranean country that has become a popular alternative to Greece and Croatia in recent years. The beaches are so beautiful that Albania’s coastline was the top destination in Europe for 2025, according to the report. Places worth visiting include Ksamil, a “web of bays, miniature islands, forested capes and lagoons that sparkle in the late afternoon sun,” and Dafina Bay, a protected nature reserve on the Karaburun peninsula.

However, Albania’s interior regions are also spectacular. HelloSafe named a visit to the protected Theth Valley, in Albania’s Alpine region, as one of the best things to do this year. It’s an area filled with alpine pastures, dense pine forests, and lakes, all set against a stunning backdrop of jagged peaks.
