Apple WWDC 2025: Now with artificial intelligence, AirPods translation and gaming app

Apple is expected to reveal more about Apple Intelligence and the upcoming iPhone operating system at its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, June 9.

The event, held at the tech giant's Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California, is the company's annual showcase of new features and tools that developers can build into apps on iPhone, iPad and other devices. The event kicked off at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT with a keynote address from CEO Tim Cook.

Consumers and investors are listening to Cook's latest insights about Apple Intelligence, which has been widely seen as moving slowly compared to AI competitors like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Anthropic (Amazon is an investor), and Perplexity.

Other iPhone updates include polls in Messages, while Spam Detection will put unknown message senders in a separate queue.

The upcoming iOS 26 will feature a new unified phone view that combines Favorites, Recents, and Voicemails, so you don't have to switch between views. AI will create voicemail summaries. /CNA
