The "curses" of the World Cup were not broken this time either

The World Cup has once again confirmed three negative historical traditions that are otherwise known as the "curses" of this global tournament.

The first statistical rule states that no current winner of the individual "Ballon d'Or" award can be declared world champion in the same edition.

This time, this trend affected the footballer Ousmane Dembele with the French national team. The second tradition is related to foreign coaches, as no coach leading a national team outside his homeland has lifted the trophy.

German Thomas Tuchel came closer to this goal by reaching the semi-final stage at the head of the English bench.

The third rule broken was confirmed in the grand final by the Argentina national team. The South American team failed to win the tournament while maintaining its status as first place in the overall FIFA rankings.
