There is still one year left on his contract, Milan decides on Maignan

Mike Maignan was close to leaving Milan in May, but the transfer to Chelsea fell through after an offer of 18 million euros failed to convince the Italians.

The French goalkeeper decided to stay at Milan and is currently the team's captain. Massimiliano Allegri considers Maignan a key player in his project and one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

After the end of the transfer window, the red and black leaders intend to start negotiations to renew his contract to avoid a departure with zero parameters, as has previously happened with Donnarumma, Çalhano?lu, Kessiè and Romagnoli.

Currently, Maignan earns 3 million euros net per season, while he is expected to be offered an increase of up to 5 million euros. The objective is a contract extension for at least another 3 years. The goalkeeper, part of Milan since the summer of 2021, seeks to be a protagonist in the new season on the eve of the World Cup.
