In the city of Vlora, the lack of emergency lanes for ambulances endangers the lives of residents seeking medical assistance.

Already transformed into a parking lot and "promenade", the residents say that the project was a failure from the beginning.

"A car cannot pass here without causing an accident, so this is a source of accidents. Danger. The ambulance does not pass on this road. This road is not used at all for emergencies", say some citizens.

In these conditions, ambulances must circulate among other vehicles, on the very narrow road with high traffic flow.

Asked by Euronews Albania, former specialists in the municipality of Vlora off-camera said that the project was not well thought out from the start, due to the narrowing of the sidewalks and the lack of functional design of the lane.

Meanwhile, in the city of Vlora, none of the new projects provide for emergency lanes, and in the conditions of the summer season and heavy traffic, ambulances are forced to queue among the many vehicles in the city, thus endangering the lives of citizens seeking medical assistance. ./Euronews
