"Together against loneliness"/ Awareness activity for Down Syndrome at the "Jonathan" center

The Jonathan Center in Tirana has held an awareness-raising activity on the theme "Together Against Loneliness" as part of March 21, World Down Syndrome Day.

The activity took place in the premises of this center, which lasted for about 2 hours from 12:00 to 14:00, with the participation of children, families, the community, businesses and partners of the center.

The celebrations with the motto "Discovering the colors of life after an extra chromosome" brought a different atmosphere accompanied by recitals, dances and other beautiful events, creating not only a broad involvement of those present, but also conveying a clear message against social isolation, with the aim of raising awareness and inclusion in society for people with Down Syndrome.

Becoming part of a large, caring community, whose hallmark is our ability to reach out to one another, to laugh and cry, to share information, and to help one another on a path that, at times, seems impossibly long and difficult, yet is wonderfully rewarding in the end.

Every year, on this day, the voice of people with this syndrome and those who live or work with them becomes stronger. On this day, organizations working on this issue organize and participate in activities aimed at raising public awareness of the inclusion and support in society for people with Down syndrome. /CNA
