For the first time in the world/ An artificial intelligence system predicts 1000

For the first time in the world, an artificial intelligence system has gained access to an entire country's medical data. The new model, called Foresight, was trained to predict 1,000 different diseases, using data from 57 million patients in the British National Health System.

Potentially, using such a large volume of data would increase the reliability of predictions, which relate, among other things, to heart attacks and emergency hospitalizations.

In the first phase, the system is being used for research related to Covid-19, its creators at University College and King's College London said, reports the Independent. The researchers said they hoped for a revolution in healthcare.

If Foresight's predictions prove useful, the system will later be used to guide doctors' decisions and allocate NHS resources.

The generative intelligence model draws data from a range of sources, including NHS hospitals and vaccination centres, the national register and private practices, reports the journal Nature.

The latest version was trained with data from 2018-23 covering a total of 10 million medical events, program officials said./CNA
