Elizabeth Debicki, the actress who plays the role of the late Princess Diana in the series "The Crown" recalled the moment when she was still a little girl and watched the funeral ceremony of the princess through the screen.

In an interview for ABC Entertainment, Debicki said that her mother was in tears while watching the funeral procession on television.

" I remember my mother's reaction very, very well. I remember sitting on the floor of our living room and my mother was watching the funeral procession and crying." Debicki said.

 The star of "The Crown" said that she and all the other actors involved in the show felt a great responsibility to get things right.

" We tried our best to get Diana's story right ," she said.

Debicki, who earned an Emmy nomination for playing Diana during the fifth season of The Crow, called the opportunity to play the late princess very difficult and also very beautiful.

The show's sixth and final season will chronicle the icon's final days before her tragic death in August 1997.

The first part of this season appears on November 16 on Netflix./ CNA
