The Albanian singer, Mentor Haziri, clarified his statement a few days ago when he criticized his colleagues regarding their reactions to the case of the 11-year-old girl in Kosovo, who was raped by five young men.

Many public figures condemned the event while protesting in Pristina, Skopje and Tirana.

In his post, Haziri stated that it was these artists who reacted to the incident and verbally abused women with the lyrics of their songs.

Meanwhile, during an interview for Albania Live, the singer said that in the lyrics of many Albanian singers, women are treated as objects and tools.

 “Nuk na nevojitet ndonjë analizë e thellë për këngët që bëjnë 'artistët' shqiptarë kur në çdo tekst të tyre femra është e pavlerë, dhunohet tekstualisht dhe përulet në mënyrën më makabre të mundshme. Keni pa shembuj të ndryshme ku femra, më falni për shprehjen por duhet ta them, konsiderohet si k*rvë.

“u kisha thënë femrave shqiptare që të mbajnë armë, pepper spray që të mbroheni nga shoqëria. Mendoj se kjo është zgjidhja përderisa dështon drejtësia në Kosovë dhe Shqipëri diçka duhet të bëhet.“, theksoi ai. I pyetur nëse pati në protestë artistë që përdorin tekste të tilla ndaj grave, ai tha:

"Yes, I saw at the protest artists who in their songs use the jargon of dirty words against Albanian women. I hope that these artists who have produced this slang for the humiliation of the Albanian woman finally remember and create songs about love, peace, kindness. " /CNA.al
