Cartoons, or animations, are a special form of art and storytelling that use drawn images, sketches, or computer graphics to create movement and stories. The process of creating cartoons involves several different stages and techniques, including:

1. Concept and scenario

Every cartoon starts with the initial idea or concept. This involves developing a script that describes the story, characters, and key events. Screenwriters work to create a narrative that is engaging for the audience.

2. Character design

After the approval of the script, the design artists create the characters of the films. This process involves drawing the characters in different shapes to define their look, style and spirit. A lot of work goes into making sure the characters are familiar and personable.

3. Storyboarding

Storyboarding is a process of visualizing the story through sketches. The artist creates a series of panels that depict how the story will unfold in different forms. This helps in planning scenes and character movements.

4. Drawing and animation

This is the most critical stage, where characters and scenes are drawn and animated. There are two main methods:

• Traditional animation: In this method, each frame is drawn manually. This method involves creating a series of images of characters and scenes that appear mobile when displayed in quick succession.

• Digital Animation: This involves using software and digital technologies to create animations. Characters and scenes can be created and manipulated more efficiently on the computer.

5. Adding sound

After the animation is finished, voice is recorded for the characters. Voice actors play the roles of the characters, bringing them to life. Sound effects and music may also be included to enhance the viewers' experience.

6. Editing and post-production

After the animation and sound recording are completed, the film moves to the editing stage. Here, different scenes are merged, visual effects can be added, and the final filter is defined, making the movies more coherent and attractive.

7. Distribution

When the film is finished, it is ready to be shown in cinemas, television or other platforms of streaming services. The marketing process is also an important aspect of distribution to attract viewers.

Modern technologies

Today, animation has advanced significantly with the help of computers and advanced software. New technologies, such as 3D animation and virtual reality (VR), are increasingly being used to create cartoons with amazing effects and immersive experiences.

Cartoons are the result of a long and careful process involving creation, art, technique and imagination. They continue to be a beloved form of entertainment for youth and adults around the world./ CNA
