SPAK disclosed this Thursday details from the "Golden Bullet" operation, thanks to which arrest warrants were issued for the brothers Franc Çopja and Hajdar Çopja.

The Special Prosecutor's Office announced that the two brothers had set up a criminal organization based in the city of Elbasan. They were involved in cocaine trafficking in Europe.

According to the file, their criminal activity started around 2006-2007 in Italy and then later the activity spread to other countries.

"It is suspected that the criminal activity of the two brothers dates back to the years 2006-2007, where they initially carried out the criminal activity in Italy by distributing small quantities of cocaine-type narcotics. Over the years, they became very empowered by the sale and trafficking of drugs, where from Italy they extended/expanded their criminal activity to other countries in Europe and beyond", announces SPAK.

It is further said that the brothers started to carry out assassinations, with the aim of taking over the market.

"Also, over the years their economic potential increased and consequently their position in relation to other groups changed as they established contacts which then gave you the opportunity to establish direct links with important exponents of the traffic of narcotics.

In order to dominate the market and establish their hegemony over other groups, this criminal organization in 2018 began to eliminate opponents (through paid murders), who had an important role in drug trafficking in Europe and beyond.

The triple murder, where the citizen Endrit Alibej was killed on 29.12.2018, in the place called Bradashesh roundabout in Elbasan, is proven beyond reasonable doubt that it was committed by this criminal organization and that the purpose of this murder is related to competition for possession of the cocaine market. The murder of citizen Endrit Alibej (a known exponent in cocaine trafficking) was followed by the ordering of the murders of several relatives of citizen Endrit Alibej," the Special Prosecutor's Office emphasizes./ CNA
