The police have issued an official announcement regarding the shootings in Velipoja.

The event happened this evening around 21:00 in Velipoja.

The police announce that for weak motives, citizens GF and EF brothers shot citizens EI and AH, who were immediately sent to the hospital but could not survive their injuries and died.

"On 19.08.2024, around 21:00, in Velipoja, it is suspected that for weak motives, the two brothers EF and GF allegedly wounded citizens AH and E. I with firearms, who were immediately transported for medical help at the Regional Hospital of Shkodër, but as a result of the injuries received, they died in the hospital.

Upon receiving the notification, the services of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, the Heads of the Directorate and the Shkodër Police Station, as well as groups of the National Security Force, Shkodër Unit, immediately went to the scene.

At the same time, a special investigative group has been set up, which is at the scene and is continuing the intensive work in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office to secure evidence in order to criminally document this event," the police announced./ CNA
