Hit a pedestrian and fled/ Police arrest driver and passenger

Yesterday afternoon in Elbasan, a 44-year-old citizen who was driving while intoxicated hit a pedestrian and an agricultural vehicle, but left the scene.

The police made it possible to identify and arrest the perpetrator, while a 55-year-old man who was a passenger at the time of the accident and who did not report the incident to the relevant authorities was also arrested.

Police Announcement:

Yesterday afternoon, with the vehicle he was driving while drunk, he hit a pedestrian and a parked agricultural vehicle, and left the scene. The 44-year-old man was identified and arrested.

Also in custody is a 55-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident and did not report the incident.

The 44-year-old's vehicle involved in the accident was found and seized.

As a result of the investigations and police actions, carried out immediately after the road accident that occurred yesterday afternoon, in the village of Tregan, traffic specialists identified, located and arrested the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident, citizen FP, 44 years old.

From the actions taken so far, it is suspected that with the vehicle he was driving while intoxicated, the 44-year-old hit the pedestrian, citizen FK, 56 years old, and a parked agricultural vehicle, and then left the scene of the accident. The 56-year-old is currently under the care of doctors at the Trauma Hospital.

Following these actions, citizen AB, 55 years old, a passenger in the 44-year-old's vehicle at the time of the accident, was arrested for failing to report the crime.

The procedural materials were referred to the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
