The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has registered criminal proceedings No. 180 of 2024, which refers to the commission of the criminal offense "Passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other officials of the judicial bodies", provided for by article 319/ç of the Criminal Code in charge of the citizen AD

From the acts administered for the interests of this criminal proceeding, it was found that, on 10.09.2024, in the show Fiks Fare on TV Top Channel, the film footage on the corrupt case of the Judicial Police Officer AD, in the Prosecutor's Office near the Court of First Instance was broadcast First of the General Jurisdiction Elbasan, which asks and receives from the citizen H. Ll., the sum of 1,000 Euros, as a reward to dismiss the criminal case in charge of her son, for the criminal offense "Illegal construction", provided for from Article 199/ai of the Criminal Code.

From the performance of the first investigative actions, it resulted that there is a reasonable suspicion based on evidence that the citizen AD, with the duty of Judicial Police Officer in the Prosecutor's Office at the Elbasan Court of First Instance, has consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other officials of justice bodies", provided by article 319/ç of the Criminal Code.

For the interests of this criminal proceeding, the Special Prosecutor's Office has requested the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, the determination of the measure of personal insurance, and the Court with its decision No. 117 Act, dated 16.09.2024, decided to accept the request, assigning the measure of coercive personal security "house arrest" provided by article 237 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. This security measure was executed by the judicial police at the Tirana Local Police Directorate on 16.09.2024.

Investigations for this criminal proceeding continue with the administration of other evidence for the complete clarification of the circumstances of this event.

The Special Prosecutor's Office thanks the Fiks Fare program on TV Top Channel for sensitizing public opinion to this corrupt act and invites citizens and the media to denounce to our institution any corrupt action or act that they may face or encounter.
