The criminal group of traffickers was hit/ 203 molds with tritol were seized

The police have hit a criminal group from Kosovo, which trafficked weapons and explosives in the direction of Albania.

In a statement to the media, the director of the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, Tonin Vocaj, announced that 3 people were arrested during the operation.

It is about young people with the initials RM, LP and Sh. H. Also, the police declared 2 other people wanted, while they seized 203 molds with tritol, weighing 46 kg.

"The Section for the Investigation of Illegal Traffic, of the DVP Tirana, after a 4-month investigative work, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Tirana, using special investigation methods, made it possible to strike a the criminal group from Kosovo, which trafficked weapons and explosives from Kosovo to Albania.    

As a result of the work organization within the police operation coded "THE SAME", on 04.02.2024, in the vicinity of the Gjola bridge, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

RM, 20 years old, LP, 25 years old and Sh. H., 27 years old, all three residents of Gjilan.

As part of this investigation, 2 Kosovar citizens were declared wanted. 

Also, during the operation, 203 molds with suspected tritol TNT explosives, weighing 46 kg, were seized. This quantity was destined to be used by various criminal groups, in the territory of the Republic of Albania.  

As part of this procedure, 3 mobile phones and 1 vehicle were also seized. 

Previously, as part of this procedure, 2 operations were carried out, 2 citizens were handcuffed and 4 firearms and pistols were seized, along with combs and combat ammunition, which were trafficked from Kosovo to Albania," Vocaj said. / CNA
