Mitsotakis' proposal for president of Greece revealed, a lawyer

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis proposed today the name of the current Speaker of the Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas, as the country's next president.

Mitsotakis' proposal will be put to a vote on January 25, while it is worth noting that Tasoulas is a figure who enjoys great support from all sides, as evidenced by his three-time election to the head of the Greek parliament.

Tasoulas is a lawyer by profession, born in Ioannina in 1959, and studied at the Athens Faculty of Law, while also having work experience at a London law firm where he served as a British Council researcher.

In 2000, Tasoulas was first elected as a member of parliament for Ioannina, representing the New Democracy party, while in 2007 he served as Deputy Minister of National Defense./ CNA
