US President Donald Trump has called on Republicans in the House of Representatives to vote to release the files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, despite previously opposing it.
"Republicans in the House of Representatives should vote to release the Epstein dossier because we have nothing to hide and because it is time to put this Democrat hoax behind us," the US president said via Truth Social.
The House of Representatives will consider a bill this week that would force the Justice Department to release all of its documents related to Epstein.
"The Justice Department has already released tens of thousands of pages of "Epstein" documents involving various Democrats and their relationship with Jeffrey Epstein," Donald Trump said, while mentioning the names of Bill Clinton, Reed Hoffman, Larry Summers, etc.
The Republican head of state has been repeatedly accused in recent months of trying to hide aspects of the case that concern him personally, something he has denied. /CNA
