Earthquake in Turkey/Erdogan: 214,000 damaged buildings will collapse

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a meeting called the National Disaster Shield of Turkey, where he announced that about 214 thousand damaged buildings will be demolished in the disaster areas in Turkey.

He pointed out that the devastating earthquakes directly affected the lives of about 14 million people and 3.5 million people had to migrate to other parts of the country.

"All state structures of the country are involved in eliminating the consequences of the disaster. The number of houses to be built in towns and villages in the disaster areas will be determined after the damage assessment is completed. Houses in the disaster area will be built within a year through the Housing Development Administration of Türkiye (TOKI). The buildings will not exceed several floors and the apartments will have four rooms", said the president./ CNA.al
