What happened?/ The Russian foreign minister ends up in the hospital as soon as he arrives at the G20 summit

Sergei Lavrov has been taken to hospital after arriving at the summit in Bali, according to the Associated Press citing multiple Indonesian officials.

Two sources told AP that Lavrov is being treated for a heart condition. 

He was taken to Sanglah Hospital in the provincial capital, Denpasar, according to three Indonesian government and medical officials. 

Shortly after the news broke, Russia's foreign ministry said the reports were "fake news". 

Lavrov is the most senior Russian official at the G20 summit, after President Vladimir Putin refused to attend.  

Discussions had been held on whether the traditional "family photo" of G20 delegates should be scrapped altogether to exclude Mr Lavrov from the picture. /CNA.al Source: Sky News
