"E-mails" from Switzerland cause panic in France, 70 threats in 5 days

There have been more than 70 fake bomb threats in France in five days, most aimed at airports and almost all sent by the same "email" from Switzerland. This was announced by the French Minister of Transport, Clement Bon.

He said that since Wednesday the same "email" address is almost always used, which is located outside the EU, in Switzerland, estimating that this is probably due to the avoidance of certain sanctions of the Union. Bonn further stated that so far more than 60 investigations have been launched into the false bomb threats. 

The minister said that some of those people who send fake threats make bad jokes.

"Everyone has a responsibility, including platforms and social networks, not to support this type of attack and to cooperate as soon as possible with the French civil aviation and our judiciary," Bonn said.

According to him, setting false alarms is extremely dangerous because it mobilizes the security forces for several hours, as well as forces people to evacuate./ CNA
