The United States will help find and punish the perpetrators of an attack on the Ibër-Lepenci canal in northern Kosovo, which caused a temporary interruption of the water supply in some parts of the country and threatened the electricity supply, the spokesman said. US Department of State (DASH), Matthew Miller.
Miller said on X that "we condemn the October 29 attack on Kosovo's water supply" and thanked Kosovo emergency teams and the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, for their work in restoring the water supply.
Kosovo has blamed Serbia for this attack, which has been denied by Serbia.
The explosion at the canal in Varrag? caused no casualties, but created a large crack in its side wall, causing water to flow out of the canal, causing some parts of the country to face water shortages.
Regular water supply was restored almost a day after the explosion, Kosovo authorities announced on Sunday, while the Kosovo Energy Corporation's supply of water for cooling its thermal power plants was not affected.
Kosovo security authorities arrested eight suspects during a wide-ranging operation in northern Kosovo on Saturday in connection with what they said was the heaviest attack on the country's critical infrastructure since the war.
During the police action, over 200 military uniforms, six hand rocket launchers, three hand grenades, two AK47 rifles, a revolver, ammunition of various calibers, weapon parts, fuses for initiating explosives, military helmets, masks, were seized. knives, money in currencies such as euros and dinars and other equipment, said Hoxha.
The attack has been condemned by the international community, while Kosovo and the European Union have described it as a terrorist act./REL
