While most European Union countries have lifted their entry rules for all travelers, there are still four of them that continue to require third-country nationals to comply with COVID-related rules.

France, Malta, the Netherlands and Spain are the countries that maintain the COVID entry rules for citizens from third countries.

France

Currently, France categorizes all countries into two different lists, the green and orange lists, which means that different rules apply, depending on where a person is traveling from.

Netherlands

The Netherlands also continues to maintain entry rules for third country travelers. There is currently an entry ban for non-EU nationals, only those who are able to present a valid vaccination or recovery certificate are allowed to enter the country.

Spain

Despite lifting its entry rules for EU travelers, Spain also still requires non-EU travelers to meet certain entry rules. The Spanish Ministry of the Interior explains that all third-country nationals must show a certificate of vaccination, recovery or testing upon their arrival./ euronews
