3% of Albanian businesses have replaced employees with Artificial Intelligence

In recent years, Albanian businesses are considering the lack of employees as the main concern of their activity.

To fill the gap, many have turned to Asian and African markets for staffing, but some others are using AI instead of people.

The survey conducted by the Balkan Barometer shows that 3% of businesses surveyed in our country have claimed to have replaced employees with Artificial Intelligence. Also, 3% of businesses in Kosovo and Montenegro had replaced people with Artificial Intelligence.

Internal data refer that in recent years, under the pressure of the lack of employees, businesses are being encouraged to use technology in all sectors from agriculture, industry and services.

Drini Zusi, shareholder in the INCA company in Lezhë, which operates in the processing industry, said that Artificial Intelligence and investments in mechanics and technology in recent years are reducing the dependence on new employee recruitments.

Mr. Zusi said that through ChatGPT and Midjourney in the field of marketing content is created and there is no longer a need for a manager in this field. Previously, the company paid an external agency or consultant for the marketing concept or content, but with the premium versions of ChatGPT these products are produced in-house.

The industry is one of the big beneficiaries of the technology, as manufacturing units, which have felt the labor shortage the most, have invested in robotics technology in recent years, while also using Artificial Intelligence for marketing and to increase productivity.

Global projections show that artificial intelligence will become a major replacement for jobs in the future.

The International Monetary Fund announced earlier this year that Artificial Intelligence will affect almost 40% of jobs worldwide, replacing some and complementing others.

We need a balance of policies to harness the new potential, Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, said via blog.

She said the world is on the brink of a technological revolution that could boost productivity, global growth and raise incomes worldwide. However, it can replace jobs and deepen inequality.

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence has stunned the world, raising important questions about its potential impact on the global economy. The net effect is difficult to predict, as AI will affect economies in complex ways./ Monitor Magazine
