Parashqevia showed us where the media ended up, not Parashqevia

I belong to that generation, when in high school we were divided into fans of Parashkevi Simak and Nertila Koka. I was part of the "Parashqevi group". After the 90s, Parashqevija and Nertila followed their lives, no longer being present on the singing scene, while we could also worship foreign singers and groups...

Paraskhevia came back "violently" to our attention, not with her art, but with her life and, not with her desire, but with the imposition of others.

It all happened together: Curiosity about the singer who many people remembered for her charm and talent, online media eager for clicks with "seductive" titles , pity for "the star who ended up begging on the streets", irony, bullying, adoration, black humor... There were also news headlines like: "See where the famous singer Parashqevi Simaku has degraded" in this parashqvimani. Interviews and writings, with confessions and allusions of colleagues about the lovers of Parashqevi, were taken out of the archives...

In fact, what happened to Parashqevi?

What happened to anyone happened to him. She fled to America with a dream, but dreams don't always come true. Life took her not for good and she decided to live it as she could, where she could and without falling on anyone's neck, in any form. Without any interest, we here knew that Parashkevia is in the USA and is not living art. That's it, the others were not interested.

I still don't know if her "return" to public attention was a PR scenario (not on account of Parashqevi, of course), was a desire to really help her (but that got out of control) or simply a means to " news" and got clicks... But the reaction it produced was truly extraordinary, on the scale of a social phenomenon. The craze to redistribute the video that showed "where Parashqevia ended up" turned into a kind of verbal violence. Even those who pitied him, expressed their pity publicly accompanied by the merciless video. It was like apologizing to someone for posting an unwanted photo, and accompanying the text of the apology with the same photo.

But in the midst of this online chatter, when many may have seen the "ugly image of a society", I saw a society that stood above a power such as the media. Thirst for audience (clicks) proved that it knows neither principles, nor code of ethics, nor mercy.

Among the crowds that raced to take part in this flamboyant assembly about a man's life, without even asking him, I saw people who evoked the golden times of the singer. They returned her songs as a counterweight to the public "discrediting" that was being done to her. Seen from this point of view, it was a phenomenon to be analyzed by public communication specialists.

Life puts you in front of trials. You may be forced to sell the house if the need arises. You can be "someone" and be forced to work even "mundane jobs", although I think that there are no such things as mundane jobs. If life puts you down, alienates you, it has no mercy. But she doesn't get the good name, the face, or the integrity. He who is poor is not without dignity.

And here, more than fate, the one who kicks you in the throat is the one who mocks your fate. The one who says: This is how it ended!

The one who catches his breath is the one who hangs the aid sausages he gives you, before hanging them around his neck and filming them, to throw the videos to the hungry crowd of media.

This hysteria showed that even misfortune should be kept to yourself, since even someone's death serves as food for someone else.

As for Parashqevi, she won the "debate", after her songs came back into the spotlight, to remind us of her greatness as a singer and to show us that we don't owe Parashqevi any mercy, but we owe her to pay for the songs he sang and entertained us (according to copyright, since we are in a market economy).
