Young man stabbed in the stomach, KLP reacts against the media

Earlier this week, the show "Stop" on Tv Klan broadcast a serious incident in the city of Saranda. On March 27, 2025, a 17-year-old was stabbed three times in the stomach by two teenagers, with the initials KC and AB, after a conflict over a girl. The incident occurred around 3:00 PM, when the 17-year-old was on a date with his girlfriend and was followed by the perpetrators. This was the second attack, after on March 22 they had hit the young man with hard objects, but he had not reported this incident out of fear.

The victim's parents accuse the authorities of not taking measures, emphasizing that AB was not prosecuted, while KC was released with a mandatory appearance. "Stop" asked prosecutor Esmeralda Basho about this case, who said she was "intimidated" by the questions with a camera and microphone.

The High Prosecutorial Council rushed to defend one of its own employees, before examining the circumstances of an event that almost resulted in the death of a young man. The KLP issued a statement to the media disapproving of unofficial information, calling the journalist's own confrontation with the prosecutor unofficial.

Some of the justice system's leaders, former KLP leaders Alfred Balla, Tartar Bazaj, but also Gentian Trenova, Eugen Beci and Arben Llangozi, condemn the KLP's statement, arguing that the journalist was within his rights.

Even the representatives of the media associations, Armand Shkullaku and Aleksandër Cipa, say that the role of the media is to control other powers and informing the public prevails over any other argument.
