The Ministry of Education and Sports, on the International Mother Language Day, announced the start date of the National Albanian Language Competition for 9th grade students, which starts on March 12 in all schools in the country.

Together with the students of the "First Teacher" school at the Education Museum in Korça, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, said that among the many activities in the Year of the Albanian Language, there is also the National Competition that will start in March.

"Together with the students of the 'First Teacher' school in Korçë, in this Museum, everywhere you look, you find a testimony that evokes the efforts made over generations to teach our Albanian language. Among the many activities in this Year of the Albanian Language, today I have the pleasure to present that from March 12, the National Albanian Language Competition for ninth grade students begins.

This competition, as one of the biggest activities of the school year, has a special importance for students, teachers and parents, as it not only conveys the beauty and richness of our Albanian language, but also serves as a platform to keep alive and raised the flame of love and appreciation for the mother tongue, as the essence of our national identity", said Manastirliu.

This competition, according to the minister, aims to promote a sense of pride and belonging in children from a young age, motivating them to discover the depths of the Albanian language and literature.

With the participation of over 8,000 students from all 9-year schools, the competition will take place at local and national levels, where the 16 best teams will face each other in the semi-finals, which will be broadcast live on the screen of the Albanian Public Radio and Television. .

The grand finale will be announced in a celebration of knowledge, as an attention to the Albanian language, as the greatest wealth that we have inherited from generation to generation and are also bequeathing to the Albanian children in the diaspora.

They also proudly celebrated Mother Language Day, organizing various activities in diaspora schools. Activities such as recitation competitions, cultural presentations, and artistic performances were organized with the aim of spreading love and respect for the Albanian language and culture.
